The Style Lab

The Style Lab

When I offer this in a group setting I set it up as a 'performance' getting participants to use their imagination as if we are taking the space shuttle.

This fun exercise is designed to develop a tripartite style statement, that is, three words to describe oneself, and I introduce words to do just that, much like how the fashionista journos describe the latest runway collections.

This booklet will allow you to identify and classify your:
  • Style Sphere: your top 10 key style sphere's of influence
  • Style Pillars: how your pillars symbolise your style's security, stability and support
  • Style Pyramid Persona: the enigma and mystery of this combination of your style translated into a tripartite statement
I will then show you how you can effectively use your understanding in your style areas to have input in the vision for your life, your career, your goals to even your conversations.
Here is an extract from the booklet:
YOUR BEACON NOW BECKONS
Our final metaphor is the lighthouse. Once you are appropriating what you have discovered on this journey about your style and you start to move into your vision, you need to be prepared not only for smooth sailing but also tumultuous times ahead. The lighthouse represents the shedding of your light (brand YOU) onto the waters to signal to others how to connect to you and also where danger may be. Ensure your team/community/ tribe do not go off course or worse get shipwrecked. After all brand YOU is about gathering together "your" tribe, and staying true to your vision.

So gather your tribe, stay true to your vision, and you will experience the caring and sharing of like minded people. You will feel a sense of belonging and an assurance that you belong with these people.

Finally, I end this exercise by getting participants to dye wash the booklet using a choice of 8 different colours. Now they know their style, what colour(s) are they going to choose.  This gets them into the zone of creativity, putting colour and light into their lives so they can burst through a very busy marketplace.
